Fifth Of July!

I realize these are a couple of days late, but I wanted to share the pure JOY that was experienced here at camp during the fourth of July weekend! Because our firework show was scheduled for the fifth, we celebrated two days in a row! The all-day party culminated in a epic and wet field day. Check out the pics (PS: there are WAY more pictures posted on Facebook.com/campkivu)....

Kivu isn't just a camp, It's a FAMILY

Its no secret that Kivu is a special place.

From the amazing adventures that we get to have every day, to the growth we get to see in the hearts and minds of our incredible campers, its hard to sum up Kivu as anything other than special. But it isn't the pursuits, or the parties, or the stunning Colorado wilderness that makes Kivu such an unique place.

Its the community.

Kivu isn't just a camp, its a family. And as we head into the last few days of our term, our campers are starting to see just how tightly knit this family can be. Every day I am seeing new friendships form and old relationships strengthen. And I get so excited about the fact that these bonds are so much more then just camp acquaintances. They are genuine, real connections that will likely turn in to life-long friendships.

It's amazing the family that can form when you're focused on loving God and loving others.

Biking with students from around the world!

Yesterday I got to lead a mountain biking trip with students from all over the world! It was so fun, we had people from all over the US as well as a group of students from Amman, Jordan. Seeing students come together from all over the world and be able to enjoy mountain biking was super encouraging for me, I love mountain biking and I love being able to share my passion with others. Here are some sweet pics from the day!

Tubing on the Los Pinos ~PHOTOS~

Yesterday was the first full day of term 2, and it was fun. I was very excited to have welcomed in all the new campers. I got to chill at the sundeck all day, waiting for the tubers to come down the river and get out. I must say, watching peoples faces in the cold water is hilarious!
