Term 2 starts.... NOW (Plus lots of pictures!)

Wow. Our first term was absolutely AWESOME!

Amazing kids.
Incredible adventure.
Lifetime memories.
Legendary term...

And we think Term 2 can be EVEN BETTER!

As sad as staff was to see our Term 1 campers leave, the prospect of our Term 2 campers rolling in was quickly able to lift our spirits. As I write this blog post, I can hear the horns honking and staff screaming as cars full of students pour through our Camp Kivu gates! Nothing energizes our staff quite like seeing old friends reunite and new friends begin to form lifelong bonds. This is truly a special time!

From top to bottom, this term is PACKED with All-Star campers. Couple that with the 4th of July (a day that is annually one of the best days of the summer at Kivu) and a staff that is fully hitting their stride, I couldn't be more excited when I think about the potential of this term. God is doing AMAZING things here, and I have no doubt that He is already working in the hearts and minds of our campers and staff as we prepare for two weeks of Loving God and Loving Others!

Closing Day/Parent's Night Term 1

This morning (and last night) we had to say goodbye to our Term 1 campers. It was a bitter sweet moment for us all here at Kivu. We are excited to see the campers flourish in their faith with The Lord and grow in their own community; however, we are bummed to see such great kids leave. This term has been full of energy, support, friendship and love. We are looking forward to seeing them next year! :)

Term 1 Halfway Done

     The past two days at camp have been incredible. We had a relaxing Sunday morning followed by a soccer tournament and then watched the US play Portugal in a thrilling World Cup match. I haven't seen that much energy from a group of people watching a sporting event in a long long time.
     Today marked our sixth day of trips. Three guys signed up for mountain biking today, so with such a small group we were able to ride really hard. It was a great day on the bikes.

Last night was the HallowsThanksMasEve party... and it was awesome! We started off with a Valentines day Breakfast, St Patty's coffee house, Fourth of July hotdogs for lunch, and the BEST Thanksgiving meal of all times (thanks Abby!!). We ended the night with a big New Years Eve bash with the countdown to the ball drop. It was such a fun day to share with everyone! Here are the pictures from the Christmas photo booth....
