A Great Day on the Animas

Well, the sun has set on another unbelievably wonderful day. It was one of those days when I catch myself thinking, "Is this really my life?!" because it seems too good to be true! Today I drove the rafters into town and got to hang out with them between their trips down the river-- what a great group of campers! They were so excited about spending time on the Animas and we were blessed with yet another perfect day of weather (86 degrees, sun, and no humidity). After the first run, we headed to one of my favorite parks in town for a lunch break complete with frisbee and great discussions of everything from prayer to whether Texas or Colorado is the best state (I think the scenery/weather in CO won that debate). Then they suited back up for a few more trips in the duckies before we came back to camp for a tasty dinner and 2Deep. Parents, thank you for sharing your children with us! They are an absolute joy to be around and we love hanging out with them each day. Here are a few photos from throughout the day that might give just a small glimpse of what a great day we had together!

Tyler and Kenai take on the Animas.
Tate and Matt heading through the rapids in style.

Claire and staff member Michael meeting the whitewater head on.
Bri and Amani finally warmed up to the chilly water after a few dips in the river.

We found some nice shade for a picnic in the park.
What a great bunch!!
I think these faces speak for themselves-- we had the perfect day!
