Term 2 Begins

First Term ended on Saturday, and it was so sad watching our new friends go home.  It's always a hard transition after we live life together, and then wonder when we'll see our new friends again.  But the saving grace is the move from old friends to new ones.

Our second term started as exciting as any in the last 10 years.  We have so many familiar faces in camp right now, and most of them have that "wide eyed" excited look on their faces.   Today we spent some time acclimating to the altitude and taking care of some in camp business, and tomorrow it all begins again.  We'll start the river trips, the lake trips, the mountain bike trips, and all the vast array of activities we do here at KIVU.

I've already had a chance to talk with some of the teens here, and I can tell these two weeks are going to be super impact full.  The feeling I get when I sit with them is an overwhelming sense of fatigue.  I sense they've been burning the candle at both ends back home, and KIVU is their place of rest.

We'll have plenty of fun stuff on the docket for them to choose to do, but my hope is the spirit of rest can blanket over them.  My hope is they can release all the pressure they feel and just breathe in the cool Colorado Summer air.  All is well today.  Thanks for your prayers.  God is up to something, and I'll be sure to report as He continues to work here.
