Tonight's Barn Dance and Neighborhood Picnic

Today is our annual neighborhood picnic! This has been one of my favorite days of camp for the last four summers, so it goes without saying that I'm pretty excited for tonight. We've sent out invitations to friends, neighbors, and community members asking them to join us for dinner and a generally fun time of sharing what we do out here at Kivu. We are so blessed to be a part of the Bayfield/Durango community, and this is one way for us to say "thank you!" We've got a great menu of grilled burgers and chicken on the menu, so we hope to see you tonight if you live in the area. After the picnic, staff enjoys a barn dance complete with root beer, cream soda, and a campfire. It's going to be a fun night!

Check out the photos below for a little peek into what the evening has in store.

Our barn is used as a place for storage and tools during the day, but it will soon be transformed from what you see here to a place of country music and a piece of home for all our Aggie staff members. We like to go all out with a wooden dance floor, twinkle lights, and LOTS of cowboy boots. Not to mention the flannel; we really love our flannel around here.

We're ready to fire up the grills and put the root beer on ice. Dinner will be quite the treat tonight!

Two of our guys' staff, Alex and Alex, are clearly excited about our guests and the evening's festivities. The mood around here is certainly one of anticipation!

What an incredible summer this is shaping up to be. Now all we're missing is our campers! Thank goodness Sunday is almost here!
