This is the 8th summer that I have had the opportunity to be at Kivu and ever year Colorado keeps getting more beautiful. I love trips at camp because it is a way for students to enjoy their surroundings while at the same time experience world-class outdoor activities.
Trips allow for students to have fun, try something they have never done before, or just lay back and relax. Trips create adventure, memories, and friendships that will stick with students forever. It is easy for students to connect with each other and our staff when there is a common goal among the trip group, whether that is paddling to get through a giant rapid on the river, peddling hard to make it up a big hill on a mountain bike, or to thrive in the backcountry with no showers and only a couple shirts. Through the vehicle of outdoor adventure students are allowed the space to enjoy God's creation, while at the same time having the time of theirs lives.
Today students went rafting, mountain biking, bouldering, to the lake, sundeck, and hiking. Even just within the first day of activities there are bound to be stories upon stories of adventure and fun!!
