Remember the first day of school? It felt so awkward. You wondered whether anyone was going to like you, where you would fit in, and who was going to be YOUR group? Studies show the first day of school is actually one of the most terrifying times in the lives of teens today. One of our dear friends in youth ministry has been quoted as saying, "Within the first five minutes of a student being on campus decides the outcome for the year." Well, I don't know about the first five minutes, but the importance of a warm welcome surely can't help but set the stage for a certain time spent.
Today is our first day of KIVU!! Students from all over the world are descending on our little slice of heaven in Colorado, and Term 2 begins!!
Unlike the first day of school, there's no wondering here.
There's no awkward silence.
There's no time to walk alone through the hallways wondering if anyone notices.
At KIVU we take special pride in making sure we care for every student who walks through the gates. Our highly energized staff are waiting to make this the best two weeks of EVERY student's year. We're not satisfied to simply have students arrive and enjoy all the activities, we want to make sure they feel like KIVU can be their second home.
So in spite of the fear of first days, here's to KIVU; a place where a student will be sure to connect and be cared for from the moment they step on the property.
First days are the BEST around here!
