Every now and then a special meeting takes place and someone actually embraces a vision to reach out and become a player in helping advance a mission, and that's exactly what happened this year at KIVU.
Our dear friends, and long time KIVU family, The Swans, decided that it was necessary to introduce a real Mountain Biking Experience to the KIVU students who come to Durango. After all, Durango is one of the most sought after Mountain Biking places in the world.
And so, after exchanging emails back and forth, and working out a deal with San Juan Cycles here in town; the crew delivered 20 full suspension Mountain Bikes for the students to ride.
I can't tell you what a difference it made to our Mountain Biking program.
They're able to climb a lot faster, with a lot more ease, and the bikes don't take quite the beating as the former hard tail bikes took while being ridden every day.
So TODAY, I'd like to shout out to my friends, The Swans, and for sure to the staff at San Juan Cycles. THANK YOU for helping make KIVU an even more interesting place for students to come and enjoy Colorado.
