Hey everyone!
We are so blessed to have been able to spend the last two weeks with an amazing group of campers... but as with all things, it must come to an end. But, here at Kivu we end things with a Bang! Parents Day started with a camp-wide frisbee tournament and ended with delicious barbecue, camper awards and a whole lot of story-telling.
It doesn't take long for the competition to heat up when you pull out a frisbee, pylons, and gather the whole camp to play. Teams dressed in matching outfits and showed their team spirit with face paint and bandannas, creating an atmosphere perfect for a day of competition. During the ultimate frisbee tournament cabins rivals were tested and 2 cabins came out victorious. It was a hard fought victory for both teams as Cabin 2 girls and cabin 4 boys were named champions.
We then welcomed parents into our gates for them to see a glimpse of what their kids have experienced the last 14 days. It was awesome to meet the parents of the campers we have grown to know and love over the term. It truly was a wonderful day of competition, reunions and reminiscing. We will be sad to see everyone leave in the morning but it has been a blessing to get to know each and every one of them. As Andy closed the night "Its not a goodbye, its a see you later".
