Awards Ceremony

This year we did something a little different at our Parents' Night Awards Ceremony and I really loved it.  We asked our counselors to pick out the kid in their cabins who most exemplified what we teach here at KIVU--to love God and to love others.  Then we had the counselors go around for a couple of days and ask that camper's peers to talk about him/her.  In the end we had and award that was extremely personal and an award that all of the camp felt a part of.

Here is what the camp said about our KIVU kids:

Girls Cabin One:  Maura Null

·      She is full of life. 

·      She truly encourages and uplifts others. 

·      She consistently has a selfless attitude.

·      She is eager to learn more about God.

·      She loves others and serves them well.

Girls Cabin Two:  Madi Davenport

·      She is quick to become friends.

·      She has a positive attitude regardless of the situation.

·      She uplifts and encourages others.

·      She has no fear.

·      She loves to try new things.

·      She truly embodies loving God, loving others and loving herself.

Girls Cabin Three:  Becca Hayhurst

·      She is the girl that everyone wants to be around.

·      She has a humble confidence that is unique.

·      She is a friend to all.

·      She is outgoing and passionate about life.

·      Others can tell that she loves Christ because of the way she loves others.

Girls Cabin Four:  Ali Pigliacampi

·      She radiates the infectious love of Jesus.

·      She is Super Encourager.

·      She has a hunger for deepening her faith and challenging herself Spiritually.

·      She exemplifies what KIVU is all about in her capacity to love, in her pursuit of Christ and undeniably in her smile.

Girls Cabin Five:  Hannah Namnoum

·      She is confident in herself.

·      She loves God.

·      She loves other with a selfless intentionally.

·      She makes everyone feel like the most important person in the room.

·      She is a natural leader.

·      She loves and encourages others and makes them want to love Jesus the way she does.

Girls Cabin Six:  Molly Rinker

·      She welcomes others with open arms and a big heart.

·      He has an inner beauty and passion for life that speaks volumes about her faith in the Lord and His plan.

·      She is a joy to be around and that joy is contagious.

·      She is willing to be vulnerable.

·      She encourages others selflessly.

Guys Cabin One:  Mason Hallock

     He has a consistently positive attitude

     You feel more joyful when you are with him

     He is the glue that kept the cabin together

Guys Cabin Two:  Kyzer Schilling

     He always has a positive attitude

     He is selfless and servant hearted

     He is a leader in the cabin

     He consistently serves others

Guys Cabin Three:  Andrew Johnson

     He is a servant leader in the cabin

     He rises to the task of helping others live like Jesus lived with a selfless mindset

     He accepts people as they are

Guys Cabin Four:  Cole Peterson

     He has a huge willingness to serve others

     He asks great and thoughtful questions

     He has a deep desire to learn more about others

     He explores his faith

Guys Cabin Five:  Carson Weatherford

     He is intentional about getting to know others

     He leads by serving

Guys Cabin Six:  Matt Trinkle

     He has an incredible attitude at all times

     He has a heart for Jesus that is infectious

     He has a true desire to follow Jesus better

     He is an encouraging and humble leader
