The KIVU Cruise

Everybody always asks, "So what do you guys do at KIVU?"

And every time I answer, "As many things we can dream up for students to have fun together."

Last night was another game changer.
The KIVU staff transformed the property into a pseudo-cruise line packed with activity decks, all you can eat buffet, and an all night dance party.

So much of our work is about helping students understand how to have fun within themselves.  We don't believe you have to have substances to laugh and enjoy life.  We don't believe you have to have lewd behavior to have fun.  KIVU is a safe place to dream up fantastic theme parties, and feel secure enough to have fun without all that stuff that's often found at the parties back home.

It's another way we love to encourage students to be WHOLE people.  They can be who they want to be, rather than who their friends want them to be.  They can work on developing their own sense of self - worth, without the pressure to become someone they're not.

It's so fun to see the KIVU students embrace their own way of having fun.  In fact, it's a lot more interesting to see what they can create while they're expressing the gifts they've been given in the world today.

Thanks again for believing in the mission here at KIVU.  Giving students a safe place to explore their own sense of self has been an incredible ride.
